Save the cow to save the existence of the world —Baba Ramdev

Nagpur, January 17: After exhorting the whole country in 108 days the Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra today concluded at Reshim Bagh Ground of Nagpur. Addressing the grand valedictory function noted Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev called upon the people to contribute in cow protection as per their capacity. He warned if we fail to protect the cow today the existence of the whole world would be at stake.

Describing the cow as the foundation of atmaupachar (self treatment) and atmasakshatkar (self realization) the leading Yoga Guru said the cow is the symbol of rashtrodaya (national uplift) through gramodaya (village uplift). “The cow is not a communal creature rather she looks after all without any discrimination,” he said adding that the consumption of cow urine everyday keeps many diseases away and the chances of constipation are too no more. He said a cow can provide sufficient money through her urine and dung only even if she does not give milk. He assured to purchase the cow urine in any quantity at Rs seven per litre.

RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat appealed to the countrymen to accord the cow a place in their daily life. He said the cow would not be protected only by shouting slogans and she would have to be made a partner in the practical life by all of us. He said there was a time when the talk of cow and the village used to be termed outdated but today the picture has reversed and both the cow and the village have become integral part of any agenda for sustainable development even in this modern age. He said the more the cities would expand the more they would become news less. “Everyone in the village recognizes each other and it is a disciplined life even without any controlling system,” he said describing the cow-based life as the best life.

Gokarna Peethadhishwar Shankaracharya Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji described the event as the beginning of a worldwide movement. But the RSS is the organisation which not only has strength but also has compassion to the goumata,” he said describing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as the incarnation of God in the form of an organisation. He said since the birth of RSS took place in Nagpur therefore the second birth of the cow would also take place in Nagpur itself.

Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtriya Sevika Samiti Pramilatai Medhe said the protection of the cow is the matter of people and not the law. “The cow protection depends upon the treatment we accord to her at our home,” she said.

Sardar Harpal Singh said there would be peace in the world only when Bharat would lead it. He said we would celebrate the next Diwali only when the cow slaughter is banned in the country.
