“Hindu sanskriti or Bharatiya Sanskriti, we have this as our identity. Bharat is not just a name of some part or piece of land. The land keeps increasing decresing based on how it is being treated. The nature of the society is the Sanskriti. This is the Sanskriti which binds us all together, thus is our identity and that is the reason it’s is known as Hindu Rashtra. Not many know and not many believe but it is universally accepted. We all are Hindus as we have accepted the very nature of the Sanskriti” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat.
Speaking on the occasion, eminent scientist and former ISRO Chairman Dr. K Radhakrishnan said “Science and Technology should address complex and larger issues of relevance with a focus in purpose. It is significant to ensure convergence and linkages between all players of value chain so that the benefits reach the ultimate end user in the society. Effective management with emerging technologies, worldwide, will require new directions and innovative solutions.”
“Let me conclude with a message to young generation. It is well stated that our human capital especially demographic dividend, holds the key to leap forward or even to leap-frog or to make impossible in to possible. “Knowing” and “Doing” are important. But “Being” what you are makes a difference in life. Our conviction about our life and its purpose and our value system, would help us to perform our duty to this motherland and the humanity as nishkama karma. Each one of us can make a difference for the country and each one of us should strive to leave a legacy when you leave this world” concluded Dr. K Radhakrishnan.
Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji –
“Let me start my speech from the last sentences made by the Chief Guest of today’s event Dr. K Radhakrishnan. How do we take our country’s demographic dividend forward? After the next 20 years our country will be a youth driven nation. Of all the countries in the world we as a country will be considered as the nation with highest youth population. What should be the direction for the youth of this nation? To know this we need to understand our values first. We have to stand by the values of the nation. It is only then we will be able to perform a Nishkaama karma for the betterment of the country. There could be a good number of people who think as to what should be done. There are equally same number of people who speak about it also but the most important question would be who is going to work. It is only when the people who work towards it are lessening in number and people speaking is increasing we would not see the change. Mere speaking words would not work”.
We all know that America was founded by Columbus. Columbus when arrived on the lands of America there were many to already receive him. Of them were the native citizens, merchants and a boudh bhikshu too! As the rest of the world did not know America, Columbus gets the fame and credit for discovering the piece of land. Naturally Columbus was not a man of high stature as he was considered a thief. Whenever he robbed and his parent land also knew about it, Columbus shared with the rulers a part of what he earned. The country where he resided gave him a permission letter for the misdeeds he was upto the part of wealth gained back to the rulers of the country. When Columbus reached back to his home land the King of the country decided to appreciate him for the wonderful task of discovering a new piece of land. So a gathering was scheduled and it was said that Columbus would be felicitated after the lunch. As the jealousy was in minds of the people who knew what Columbus was in his character the people who could not stand it started disliking the kings decision of felicitating him. The king then called everybody and placed an egg on the table and asked the people around to make the egg stand by itself. It was obvious that it was not possible and so people started giving out reasons about the fact that egg cannot be made to stand by itself due to the nature of it. However when Columbus was asked to do the same, he broke the egg and made it stand on the table. The king appreciated it and the people around cried foul as this was something even a child could. The king opined then that though it is not a big thing, nobody even tried that out and Columbus deserves credit as he had done it.
He who “does” gets the credit. He is the one who enjoys sampatti, sukha. For the development of the country, we have to make sure we have the right set of people who can work and we enable people to get that major task done. This is the work of Sangha. For the past 90 years we have been doing it. Lot of people discuss, debate in their own ways. But what is the Truth eventually? RSS job is to make Bharat a Parama vaibhava sampanna desh. After the country is opulent and prosperous, Sangh need not work further. This is because once we achieve the Parama Vaibhava Sampanna position all other factors are a part of it and will be inherently taken care of.
Dr. Hegdewar, the founder of the RSS was active in all possible ways and all available initiatives then in the country. As a student he completed his education with flying colours, as a son of the soil he was also involved in releasing us from the clutches of the British. Though there were a good number of ideologies which were in vogue then, Dr. Hedgewar was involved in all of them as the ultimate goal was to attain freedom. Naturally he was in close touch with many in the field of freedom struggle. There was honesty residing in the minds of people who were working towards the freedom struggle. Hedgewar had always discussions with the then leaders of the fore – Lokamanya Tilak, Gandhi, Savarkar, Bose, Madan Mohan Malaviya or even revolutionaries like Rajguru, Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh. All of them were striving towards the single motto of freedom for the nation. From the times of Shakas till the British, there have been a handful of people who have been invading us. The country which was called a golden bird (Sone ki chidiya), a country which was prosperous was attacked.
We were valorous then too. Just to remind ourselves we had participated in the two world wars. In such a case how could mere few people who could come and rule over us everytime? Without correcting our problems we cannot change the fortunes for the country. Dr. Hedgewar felt if everyone is engaged in the big task of freedom struggle one needs to patiently work towards organizing the society, the result of which is Rashtriya Swayamsevaka Sangh. It was a diverse country, and he observed that the values were missing. The diversities were in us from times immemorial those being the diversities in Languages, Regions, Caste subcaste etc. Yet we are called as one nation and the feel of one nation is also not a newly born term. We have been a single united nation from our Vedic periods. In our Vedas our Country is defined as the land which is southwards of the Himalayas. In the Puranas we have a shloka which goes this way, Uttraram yat Samudrasya Himadreschaiva Dakshinam Varsham tat bharatam naama Bharati yatra santati.
The diversities existing then also. Atharva Veda has hymns which prove that we had such diversities. With all such diversities it is the Culture (Sanskriti) which we have as a unifying force. Our Honarable President had recently been to Andhra to inaugurate a Vedic school. He opined that the Vedas have always been a unifying strength of the Sanatana Culture. So we have to secure it and appreciate it as it is a big force of today’s India. It is not just shlokas in it. In all other parts of the world it is said that ‘Uniforminty is must for unity ?.’ We do not believe or even follow it. One must be able to find unity in diversities available’. So respect, appreciate, follow, celebrate all such diversities. But let us remember that all these emerge from the one feel of unity and we are to be aligned to the same.
We are all equal should be our way of working. ‘All is one’ is the first value amongst us. One has become all, and that is the Unity in Diversity. Fighting amongst ourselves would not work to attain the unity. It works by samanvay. Do not consider nature as something you own. Respect the nature let us be courteous. As an example if there is a need to cut off one tree plan ten before you would do it.
This is called Hindu Sanskriti or Bharatiya Sanskriti. We have this as our identity. Bharat is not just a name of some part/piece of land. The land keeps increasing decreasing based on how it is being treated. The nature of the society is the Sanskriti. This is the Sanskriti which binds us all together, thus is our identity and that is the reason it is known as Hindu rashtra. Not many know and not many believe but it is universally accepted. We all are Hindus as we have accepted the very nature of the Sanskriti. This culture does not do a diffentiation in ways of praying to God or even in the name of the religion, caste subcaste, language.
Organize those Hindus so that they work towards the county’s progress. Groom them with Sanskars so that we see an organized society. It is about the changing our habits. How will this happen? In case one would want to follow a book, he will have to read it thoroughly and start practicing the same. The character has to be built. So this habit has to be practiced by all. RSS is working in the same direction. Take out one hour from your day. What do you get from it? Nothing!!! One might not get a “Thank you” also for it. It is the body, soul and intellect which would need to be trained.
Let us take this Shrung ghosh shibir as an example. All countries certainly have such a thing. There are some modifications every where. Sangeet Swar, vadya is not meant for some country. How to bring it to way that we use it for a better purpose. We have it as our parampara. Rana sangeeth was there in our past /history. We have added our Indian Soul in it. We have called Saxophone as Naganga Clarionet as Swarad, Euphonium as Gomukha and Trumpet as Turya.
For us those names remain and we add our parampara to it. This is because it our values. There are times when military has used our tunes in the past. We have our own Rana sangeeth. When we speak about the ISRO, it is the patriotism and confidence level of the people who work with in it. The main motto would be to make everyone go with us. That is the quality of an efficient Leader. The people who work would not even bother about Siddi. Asiddi. We would need a Saatvik Karyakarta. This methodology is in the RSS.
“For any programmes we have we invite you all, but let us do a bit more in devoting some time to do something for the nation. Let us become responsible and attain that competence and skill which is utmost needed for the progress of the country. RSS is the way which teaches this competence and skill. The Sangh always feels that we are all unitedly working for the progress of the country. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is mailnly for men. For the women we have the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti in which the ladies can actively participate and contribute to the progress of the county. It is not that we have gathered here as audience, but let us become a swayamsevak, and attain the skill for nation building. As per your time likes reform it” concluded Dr. Mohan Bhagwat.
