Sudarshanji was akin to kin in our household, sharing in our joys and sorrows, standing beside us as a paternal figure, always ready to lend a helping hand. His priorities were always rooted in human connections, placing scholarship, organizational responsibilities, and national policies secondary. An emotionally driven individual, he often found himself engrossed in lengthy conversations with visitors, offering pearls of wisdom on subjects ranging from science and spirituality to metaphysics and environmental concerns.

Even in his role as the global chief of the world's largest Hindu organization, he remained remarkably accessible. He fostered an environment where one could openly discuss, critique, or even vehemently oppose organizational decisions without the fear of retribution. He embodied the role of a nurturing mentor, shaping those around him through love and persuasion rather than anger or discipline.

His inaugural address to the nation, a press conference held in Nagpur upon assuming leadership of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, focused on economic issues and advocated for policies that would bolster indigenous industries, create employment opportunities, and uplift skilled and unskilled workers.

In the confines of RSS offices, he instilled a culture of water conservation, urging everyone to only fill their glasses with what they intended to drink, emphasizing the sacredness and scarcity of water. He advocated against extravagant weddings, seeing them as a mockery of India's impoverished millions and a stain on Hindu society. His crusade against female foeticide echoed his commitment to protecting the sanctity of life.

Despite his prominent position, he eschewed divisive rhetoric, extending praise even to political adversaries like Indira Gandhi for her leadership during the 1971 war. He rejected the politics of hatred, striving to bridge divides and reach out to all as fellow Indians.

He challenged ideological norms, cautioning against blind adherence to Communist practices and advocating for a more inclusive Hindu ethos. His deep understanding of global affairs and commitment to Swadeshi principles garnered him a diverse circle of friends, including diplomats, scientists, scholars, and environmentalists.

His affinity for Atal Bihari Vajpayee's poetry and his dedication to fostering interfaith dialogue demonstrated his inclusive approach to leadership. He maintained close relationships with the Muslim community, regularly exchanging Eid greetings with friends of all faiths.

In his personal interactions, he displayed a youthful enthusiasm, engaging with children and enjoying non-political television programs. His joy upon the birth of a friend's daughter underscored his warmth and humanity.

Following his tenure as RSS chief, he grappled with loneliness and failing health, finding solace in the poetry of Atalji and reflections on his past. Despite criticisms and challenges, he remained steadfast in his convictions, refusing to backtrack once he had taken a stand.

Sudarshanji envisioned a resurgence of Hindu glory, foreseeing a future where India would reclaim its rightful place on the global stage. He lamented the persecution of Hindus both within and beyond India's borders, urging unity among Hindu leaders irrespective of political affiliations.

His legacy lives on as an inspiration to build a stronger, more prosperous India. Though his best speeches and interviews may not have been published in his lifetime, his memory continues to guide us toward a brighter future for Bharatvarsh.
