Contributions of RSS in India

1) Surveillance on Kashmir border, shelter to partition victims
Sangh volunteers, without any training, continuously monitored the activities of the Pakistani Army on the Kashmir border since October 1947. Neither the Nehru-Mountbatten government nor the Hari Singh government was doing this work. At the same time, when Pakistani Army troops tried to cross the border of Kashmir, along with the soldiers, many volunteers also sacrificed their lives in the fight while protecting their motherland. When the partition riots broke out, when the Nehru government was completely confused, the Sangh had set up more than 3000 relief camps for the refugees who had come to save their lives from Pakistan.

2) 1962 war
The enthusiasm with which Sangh volunteers from all over the country reached the border to help the army was seen and appreciated by the entire country. The volunteers devoted their full strength to government work and especially to helping the soldiers – guarding troop movement routes, helping the administration, helping with logistics and supplies, and even caring for the families of the martyrs. Jawaharlal Nehru had to invite the Sangh to participate in the 26 January parade in 1963. Even today, parade participants have to prepare for months, but on the invitation received just two days ago, 3500 volunteers appeared in uniform. When criticized for the invitation, Nehru said, “The RSS was given a special invitation to participate in the Republic Day Parade of 1963 to demonstrate that one could successfully fight bombs and the Chinese armed forces with the help of sticks alone.” “Invited.”

3) Merger of Kashmir
Maharaja Hari Singh of Kashmir was not able to take the decision of merger and on the other hand, Pakistani army in the guise of tribals was entering the border, then the Nehru government was sitting in a posture of 'what should we do'. Sardar Patel sought help from Guru Golwalkar.

Guruji reached Srinagar and met the Maharaja. After this the Maharaja sent the proposal of merger of Kashmir with India to Delhi. Did Nehru's later hatred towards Maharaja Hari Singh have a root here?

4) Handled law and order during the 1965 war
Lal Bahadur Shastri also remembered the Sangh during the war with Pakistan. Shastri ji requested to help in handling the law and order situation and take over the traffic control of Delhi, so that the policemen freed from these duties could be deployed to help the army. The volunteers of the Sangh were also the first to donate blood for the injured soldiers. During the war, Sangh volunteers did the work of removing snow from the airstrips of Kashmir.

5) Merger of Goa
The Sangh played a decisive role in the merger of Dadra, Nagar Haveli and Goa with India. On 21 July 1954, Dadra was liberated from the Portuguese, on 28 July Naroli and Fiparia were liberated and then the capital Silvassa was liberated. On the morning of 2 August 1954, the volunteers of the Sangh took down the Portuguese flag and hoisted the Indian tricolor, freed the entire Dadra Nagar Haveli from the Portuguese occupation and handed it over to the Indian Government. Sangh volunteers had been effectively involved in the Goa liberation war since 1955. Following Nehru's refusal to take armed intervention in Goa, Sangh workers under the leadership of Jagannath Rao Joshi reached Goa and started a movement, which resulted in the Sangh workers including Jagannath Rao Joshi. being sentenced to ten years' imprisonment. As the situation worsened, India finally had to intervene militarily and Goa became independent in 1961.

6) emergency
The memory of the Sangh's role in the struggle against the Emergency between 1975 and 1977 and the formation of the Janata Party is still fresh for many people. After the arrest of thousands of volunteers in Satyagraha, Sangh workers started living underground and carrying on the movement. Sangh workers took over the work of pasting posters on the streets against the Emergency, giving information to the public and creating a dialogue between various political workers and leaders in jail. When almost all the leaders were in jail, efforts to merge all the parties and form the Janata Party could be carried out only with the help of the Sangh.

7) Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, formed in 1955, was perhaps the first labor movement in the world which was based on the concept of construction instead of destruction. The practice of celebrating Vishwakarma Jayanti in factories was started by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh itself. Today it is the largest, peaceful and creative labor organization in the world.

8) End of Zamindari system
In Rajasthan, where there were a large number of landlords, CPM itself had to say that Bhairon Singh Shekhawat is the leader of progressive forces in Rajasthan. Sangh volunteer Shekhawat later also became the Vice President of India.

Establishment of Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Shiksha Bharati, Ekal Vidyalaya, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Vidya Bharati, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Muslim Rashtriya Manch. Today Vidya Bharti runs more than 20 thousand schools, about two dozen teacher training colleges, one and a half dozen colleges, more than 10 employment and training institutes. About 30 lakh students study in these Saraswati Shishu Mandirs recognized by the Central and State Governments and more than 1 lakh teachers teach. It is more than numerical strength that these institutions keep Indian values connected with education.

Seva Bharti alone is doing more than one lakh works of service in remote and inaccessible areas across the country. More than 10 lakh students are improving their lives in about 35 thousand single schools. For example, Seva Bharati has adopted 57 children orphaned by terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir, of which 38 are Muslim and 19 are Hindu children.

9) Service work
From the deadly cyclone that hit Odisha in 1971 to the Bhopal gas tragedy, from the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 to the Gujarat earthquake, the tsunami disaster, the Uttarakhand floods and the service to the injured of the Kargil war - the Sangh has done relief and rescue work. Have always done it by being at the forefront. Not only in India, but even in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Sumatra.
